Westend city mall logo tender / 2nd place: Zsófia Vári – What we do here (November 2020)
“Westend’s new image – and thus the container logo dreamed up by Avalanche Creative Studio, which won last year’s tender – celebrated its 1st anniversary this year. On this occasion, the mall launched a creative competition called “A New Wave of Creativity” in November, which received nearly 300 really valuable and varied entries. What the creators had to do was to fill the W logo of the center with content that was relevant to them, that is, they would tell in a picture or even in the form of a plastic work what Westend meant to them.
The winning works were selected by the jury in two rounds. The professional jury included Orsolya Kovács, marketing director of Westend, Júlia Baranyai, artistic director of Avalanche, designer of the new logo, and Linda Bérczi, founder of the Budapest Art Mentor program. They decided on the prizes of 300, 200 and 100 thousand forints for the best, which the winners could receive in the form of a purchase voucher. A jury made up of tenants offered a special prize to 3 more applicants, in which representatives of Miniso, Lindt and Yves Rocher were able to choose the works they liked best.
The top 40 entries will adorn the communal areas of the mall until the end of December in the form of a poster.”
